Fitters on Staff

Three People, No Front Desk

Whoever answers the phone is also the person who will measure your clubs. That is a deliberate choice about how small this operation stays.

Owner and Lead Fitter

Ruben Alcantar

Ruben opened the bench in 2014 after eleven years in the repair room at a Hill Country club, where the job was mostly rescuing equipment that members had already broken. That experience shaped the whole studio: he had watched hundreds of expensive fittings quietly come undone because nobody checked the clubs afterwards.

He handles iron and wedge work, and he is the one who will tell you your set does not need replacing even when replacing it would be more profitable for the shop. He plays to a four handicap at a course he refuses to name because he does not want anyone waiting for him on the first tee.

Fitter, Woods and Long Game

Danielle Kwon

Danielle came out of collegiate golf in the Midwest and spent four seasons as a teaching professional before deciding she was more interested in equipment than in swing changes. She runs the driver, fairway wood and hybrid sessions.

Her particular strength is the conversation about what a golfer should stop trying to fix with technique. A significant portion of her fittings end with the observation that the club was making a decent swing look bad, which is a more comfortable finding than most golfers expect to hear.

Bench Technician

Theo Frazier

Theo runs the repair bench and owns the service calendar. Regrips, reshafts, ferrule work, loft and lie corrections and every extraction that arrives here in pieces go through him. He also maintains the gauge calibration log posted on the back wall.

He was a bicycle mechanic for six years before this, and he brings that trade's habit of documenting torque values and part numbers on everything. If your service card has an unusually detailed note about tape build-up, that is Theo.

Working Standards

Things All Three of Us Agreed To

Measure Before Recommending

Nobody in this shop suggests a change before the gauge has produced a number. Opinions come after readings, not instead of them.

Say the Uncomfortable Thing

If the equipment is fine and the problem is elsewhere, we say so. That includes the sessions where the honest answer is a lesson rather than a purchase.

Write It Down

Every measurement, every change, every date. A verbal recommendation that nobody recorded is worth nothing eighteen months later.

Book With Whoever Fits the Job

Or call and describe the problem, and we will tell you which of the three you should be talking to.
